Qualifications

National Certificate Close Protection: NQF Level 5

Fully accredited SAQA registered qualification. Consists of 134 credits.  Learning programme can be structured to the needs of the client. Recognition of Prior Learning process also available. The learning programme consists of 19 Unit Standards. On completion of this learning programme learners will be able to conduct a risk assessment of the principal, provide static and close protection functions. Learners will be competent and well versed in the field of Close Protection. This is the only registered qualification in the field of personal security. Learners who are competent in this qualification will be able to register at PSIRA 

National Certificate Security Practices : NQF Level 4

Fully accredited SAQA registered qualification. Consists of 134 credits.  Learning programme can be structured to the needs of the client. Recognition of Prior Learning process also available. The learning programme consists of 19 Unit Standards. Learner accredited with this learning programme will be able to provide access control, security patrols and general security functions within the working environment. Learner found to be competent in this learning programme will be able to register at PSIRA.

Short Course: Security Report Writing:

Successful candidates will be able to writing skills for specific purposes, audiences and contexts by access, processing, re-organizing and synthesizing information in order to present it. Learners will also be able to use appropriate language conventions, textual features in order to present findings. Finally learners will be able to draft and edit texts. Short Course: Anti Corruption Learners who successfully completed this learning programme will be able to explain corruption and identify the phenomena. Candidates will also be able to analyze and implement anti-corruption strategies in the working environment. 

Short Course: Risk Management

On completion of this learning programme the learner will be able to collate information regarding threats and risks to a principal. Successful candidates will be able to evaluate and estimate the probability and impact of the threats categorize risk levels and provide recommendations on protective measures needed to ensure the safety of the principal.

Short Course: Static Protection

Successful candidates will be able to identify and assess potential risks at venues while implementing measures to protect the principal. Learners will also be able to establish and coordinate a venue protection centre. Members will also acquire the skill of critically reviewing static protection operations.

Short Course: Pedestrian Escort

Learners accredited with this course will be able to plan and provide a pedestrian escort to a principal. The provisioning of body cover is a integral part of the learning programme. Competent learners will also be able to manage threats and /or attacks on the principal.
